Seattle WA Chiropractor Discusses Tips to Energize with Exercise

Hi, it’s Dr. Zapata with Emerald City Spinal Care in Seattle here once again to share another Tip of the Week! Today, I want to share a simple, yet powerful, tip with you. We’re going to be discussing how you can energize with exercise to keep your energy levels (and productivity) up throughout the course of your day!

Do you opt for a double espresso as your pick-me-up of choice after a poor night sleep? If so, you are not alone! There are many people out there who struggle to keep their energy levels up throughout the course of the day. This is even more common here in Seattle during the winter months, where a lack of sunshine and daylight make it that much more difficult to keep energized throughout the day. Given this fact, it’s no surprise that Seattle is the coffee capitol of the world!

A new study from the University of Georgia found that people who walked up and down stairs for ten minutes reported an increase in their energy and had more motivation to complete work related tasks than people who drank four ounces of caffeine.

So, instead of standing in line for a coffee, try hitting the stairwell instead for a low to moderate impact workout with energizing benefits to help you tackle the rest of your day! A simple ten minute bout of stair climbing will put an extra ‘pep in your step’ and you may even find yourself falling asleep a little bit easier at night!

So, with the weather changing here in Seattle, give this a try and see if it helps reduce your urge for a mid-day caffeine pick me up!

That wraps up another Tip of the Week. I hope you find this helpful. For all of us at Emerald City Spinal Care, thanks and have a GREAT week!
